Action Pose – X-Transbots Stax – DRAW!

This was done during my pictorial review for X-Transbots Stax, but those already had a good amount of pics…

And I really liked this one, so I wanted it to have its own post. :)

Krank has those burly arms, like two chrome piledrivers that transform into Hulk Hogan’s pythons.

But with the different look of Stax’s arms and the way the pipes can mount on them as blasters, I like to have him use the pistols.

Maybe it has something to do with the G1 Huffer toy having claws for hands while the G1 Pipes toy had blasters for hands, but that quickdraw pose just looks so right on Stax.

So, dear readers, have you noticed that both Stax and Optimus Prime have faceplates? Coincidence, or did Rodimus cut in line for matrix duty?

  1. Lots of those early guys had faceplates. Bumblebee, Trailbreaker, Beachcomber, Wheeljack had a nice minimalist plate right under his Snake Eyes style Ladyhawke visor.

Y’know, I don’t think the guys making the cartoons were paying any attention to the toys.

My feelings on Hot Rod have already been addressed on my own blog, with a little help from Springer….

  2. It’s probably best that they didn’t pay that much attention to the toys.

Just look at Ratchet and Ironhide.
