Action Throwback Thursday – Soundwave’s Minions

This blog here at MattBooker.info has been going on for about 8 years now. Since then I’ve gone from taking pictures with a point and shoot camera to an android phone to a point and shoot camera again. I’ve taken pictures on a bed and a desk and bookshelves. I still don’t use a DSLR and I still don’t have a lightbox, but I try to improve each time.

And I was going through my blog files, and there’s some older Action Pose pics that I hadn’t gotten around to posting. Some of those are from years ago, and the photo quality certainly illustrates that I’ve gotten better at the whole picture thing. I’m not one to cringe at past efforts, since these represent a stepping stone in the learning process.

And so I’ll be posting some of those on Thursdays now.

Today, it’s War For Cybertron Soundwave and his minions!

Should Rumble be using his piledrivers that close to his teammates?

WFC Soundwave fit great in a Classics collection. Your other options were what, Music Label and the FOC Voyager? Music Label was a bit pricey for what it was, and the FOC voyager was just a bigger and less cool version of the deluxe. Sure, the voyager had that ‘data disk’ gimmick, but most of those weren’t exactly great either.

But the WFC Deluxe fits in well with most of the Classics\Universe\Generations Decepticons, like the Classics Seekers and WFC Megatron.

Soundwave’s minions are Classics Ravage, Unite Frenzy and Rumble, and Cybertron Laserbeak. Ravage could use a bit more articulation, but otherwise looks great, and Frenzy and Rumble match because of their Cybertronian forms. Lazerbeak is just a great little bot, having a more stylized form that goes well with the updated Classics style, and the feet even match up with Soundwave’s arm for perching action.

As for the picture itself, you can see it needed better focus and there was some heavy postprocessing effects done. I still do a lot of shooping for pics, but this was done on a lower resolution camera that needed a lot of the grainy look smoothed out.

Also, Rumble is blue.

So, dear readers, what do you think of Action Throwback Thursday? What’s your favorite flavor of Deadpool?
