Fansproject Motormaster Review and Gallery!

Tuesday, February 26th, 2013

Yes, you read that right. I’ve finally splurged a massive amount of cash and joined the ranks of advance video reviewers such as MitchSantona and Optibotimus! I am super excited to bring you this, as not only is Fansproject Motormaster a highly anticipated must have, he is THE must have figure of 2013!

And, as an added bonus: THIS IS A WORLD PREMIER EXCLUSIVE NEVER BEFORE SEEN REVIEW.

That’s right, it may have cost me enough to army build with TRU MP10, but I got ahold of Fansproject Motormaster before he was officially revealed by Fansproject. Many thanks to my buddy overseas! I hope you enjoy the gold giraffe!

Please, bear in mind that this didn’t come with packaging or instructions, so the official modes might look a bit different. And since there’s no official name, I’ll be calling it Motormaster.

Yeah yeah. So lets get on with it and get to what you came for!

Transformers Prime – SE FE Bulkhead Stress Marks

Wednesday, November 21st, 2012

I posted before about how the SE FE voyager Optimus Prime is missing paint compared to the first edition of the first edition, and I mentioned that the SE FE voyager Bulkhead was a bit more complicated.

While the lack of paint on Optimus is something I can overlook, Bulkhead had a problem that’s not aesthetic, but functional, and from what I’ve seen is widespread to the point all of them seem to be affected to varying degrees.

Here’s another picture of that display, just to show the scale between Iron Man and Galactus.

Transformers Prime – SE FE Optimus not so Prime?

Tuesday, November 6th, 2012

If you’re a transformers collector, you probably already know about the huge debacle over the Transformers Prime First Edition series. Hasbro showed off some great looking figures that were complex and for the most part very screen accurate, announced their release date, and then they barely got released.

It was a TRU exclusive, with only Canadian TRU’s getting the voyagers. Online stores even had to cancel preorders because of it. Meanwhile, in Asian markets the First Editions were shelfwarming.

But wait! Hasbro heard fans complaints. They were going to do a shared exclusive rerelease with BBTS and TRU. Fans could buy Bulkhead and Optimus at retail instead of ebay.

While that’s great, when I got my Second Edition First Edition voyager Optimus there was a problem. And it’s a problem with all of them.

Action Pose – Ironman vs Galactus

Saturday, November 3rd, 2012

I found a Marvel Masterworks Galactus at my local TJ Maxx.

It was $29.99! That is a ridiculous price for something that’s over 19 inches tall and weighs 3.6 lbs! Especially considering it retailed at $62.99 and still goes for more than that on Ebay.

It’s designed for Marvel Universe figures, but HeroClix seem to scale better.

WHO DARES DEFY GALACTUS?

Action Pose – Super Poseable Amazing Spider-Man

Thursday, September 6th, 2012

I really liked the Amazing Spider-Man movie. I’d heard a lot of bad things about it, most about people bitching that it had plot problems and no real story, or that Peter doesn’t learn anything in the end, but I was happy to find that I didn’t agree with those claims. At all.

But even if you didn’t like the movie, it did result in a great 4inch scale Spider-Man!

Transformers Prime – What makes a Wheeljack?

Saturday, July 21st, 2012

With each new incarnation of Transformers, characters may change but most of them are just variations on their G1 versions. Optimus is a leader, Ratchet is a medic, Ironhide is tough, Bumblebee is the most kid friendly.

One could make an argument that Bumblebee has changed from his original archetype, what with him going from a chubby and inexperienced bot to a warrior who can’t speak, and there’s truth in that, but he’s still the one most marketed towards kids.

Arcee has gone through a change in Prime, from a pink girl character who… Uh… Who… Well, she went from a pink girl who turned into a car and became a character who is more than just a blue girl who turns into a motorcycle. They made her a warrior, gave her backstory, and character development because of her relationship with Jack and various vendettas over dead partners.

Prime RID Bulkhead – Classics?

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2012

Thanks to the good folks over at BobaKhan Toys I recently picked up a PRID Bulkhead.  A few months ago, a user over at TFW picked up an early sample and did the first pictorial review of the figure, and I did a post on here explaining a problem I had with the figure.

Basically, the user took a picture of Bulkhead from the side with him leaning really far back, and said that was because Bulkhead constantly looked down if you didn’t, that his head wasn’t really on a balljoint and only moved side to side.

As more people reviewed the figure, they confirmed that Bulkhead’s head actually is on a balljoint. That’s great news, because it fixed my only real problem with the figure.

And I can confirm as well, that Bulkhead can stand up straight and still look straight ahead.

But what about my reason for buying it? Does it fit into Classics?

Cthulhu Dice by Steve Jackson Games – A review!

Saturday, June 30th, 2012

What was that wicked looking thing that Mer-Man was holding in the previous post? Can rolling with Cthulhu be fun? What does this have to do with Captain Olaf and why he lives in a desert?

Cthulhu Dice. Yes. And not much, but my love of The Last Lovecraft is mighty.

If you haven’t a clue what I’m talking about, keep reading. Today I’m doing a review of Cthulhu Dice by Steve Jackson Games!

In one of the darker corners of the Sea of Rakash, something was whispering.

Something ancient.

Something fun.
